Bangladesh Inflation Rate Quickens to 3-Month High Bangladesh's annual inflation rate rose to 10.87% in October 2024, accelerating from a three-month low of 9.92% in the previous month. This marked the highest inflation rate since July, as prices increased at a faster pace for food and non-alcoholic beverage (12.66% vs 10.4% in September), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (15.6% vs 15.15%), clothing and footwear (8.63% vs 8.58%), communication (9.81% vs 8.64%), recreation and culture (7.91% vs 7.83%), education (7.48% vs 6.81%), restaurants and hotels (10.69% vs 9.77%), and miscellaneous goods and services (15.79% vs 13.86%). In contrast, costs moderated for housing and utilities (9.39% vs 9.99%), transport (5.64% vs 6.17%), and furnishings, household equipment, routine maintenance of the house (8.01% vs 8.19%), and health (10.88% vs 13.34%).
